An accomplished leader in global education, George Philip Walsh brings a wealth of experience from the United Kingdom, Switzerland and South-East Asia. As Executive Principal of British School of Geneva (BSG) and a Board Member of Swiss Group of International Schools (SGIS), he plays a pivotal role in shaping outstanding international education. Additionally, as a Council of International Schools (CIS) Peer Evaluator and Accreditation Visit Chair, George Philip supports schools worldwide in their continuous development and strategic growth.
Throughout his career, George Philip has been committed to fostering academic excellence, strengthening school communities, and driving organisational progress in diverse international contexts. His leadership philosophy is rooted in the deliberate design of well-rounded, child-centred curricula, underpinned by exceptional teaching and dynamic learning environments. He is passionate about creating safe, inspiring spaces where both students and educators feel empowered to innovate, collaborate and achieve their full potential.
Mr. Arron joins the British School of Geneva as Deputy Executive Principal during the school’s 20th Anniversary year. Originally from South West England, he has over 20 years of experience in the independent education sector in the UK and Switzerland. A graduate of the University of Leeds with a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science and Physiology, he went on to complete the graduate teacher programme, later holding roles such as Director of Sport, Head of Senior Boys’ Boarding and Subject Leader for Primary Science. He also holds an MEd in Leadership and Management in Education and the NPQSL. A collaborative leader, he is committed to fostering teamwork, strong teaching and learning, and the well-being of students and staff. With a background in developing extensive extra-curricular programmes, he has led international sports tours to destinations including Barbados, St Lucia and Dubai. Outside of school he enjoys fitness, running, cycling, skiing and swimming in Swiss lakes, as well as improving his French.
Dara loves our school and all it stands for, and I especially enjoy ensuring all our students have the opportunity to become successful learners.
As a devoted educator with a unique journey that spans from Shropshire, England to France and back. Dara's connection to BSG began as a teacher's assistant in 2014, demonstrating her early commitment to our school community.
After pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Education in the UK, Dara joyfully returned to BSG in 2019, this time as an enthusiastic and passionate teacher.
Dara's deep affection for our school and its values shines through in her dedication to ensuring that every student can flourish as successful learners. Dara's love for the school and everything it stands for, truly embodies the spirit of our school community.
Meet Alice, our dedicated Head of Secondary. Originally from London, Alice's journey in education began when she graduated from the University of Warwick with a BA (Hons) in English and Italian Literature in 2008.
Her passion for teaching led her to train as a Secondary English teacher through the UK's Teach First Leadership Ambassador programme in 2013, followed by the completion of her PGCE in Birmingham, where she skillfully taught for three years.
Not one to be confined to a single location, Alice embarked on an enriching teaching experience in Rome for four years at private international schools before finding her way to Geneva in 2019. With her extensive experience, Alice has taken on the role of Head of English and is now leading our Secondary school, bringing her expertise to teaching GCSE and A level English.
Alice's thirst for knowledge doesn't end in the classroom. Always eager to expand her skills, she will be pursuing a Masters in Teaching and Learning at Pembroke College, University of Oxford, this year, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to educational excellence.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Alice finds joy in travel, indulging in a good read, keeping up with the latest in fashion, and delighting in the world of opera.
Michela's role is to guide you through the admissions process at British School Geneva. With a strong background in education and marketing, Michela focuses on making the admissions process smooth and welcoming for all families. Her goal is to help you find the right educational path for your child and ensure you feel at home in our community.
Ms Sophia joins the British School of Geneva as Head of Sixth Form and looks forward to being part of its diverse and welcoming community. After discovering a passion for social sciences during A Levels, Ms Sophia studied Sociology at Nottingham Trent University and later completed a Master’s in HR Management at Buckinghamshire New University. She began her teaching career as an A Level Sociology teacher before becoming Head of Sociology and Pastoral Leader in an outstanding Surrey school, where she fostered academic excellence and celebrated the achievements of all students. She believes every young person has something exceptional to offer and is committed to guiding students in shaping their future pathways. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking with her husband, reading, travelling and exploring the outdoors with their two young boys.
Aisling Demaison
Head of Pastoral Care & Designated Safeguarding Lead
Born and educated in Ireland, Aisling Demaison brings a lifelong love of education and a deep understanding of how young people grow into curious, confident learners. Trained as a teacher and holding a Master’s degree in School Counselling, Aisling combines expertise in education and psychology to create meaningful connections with students and families.
Aisling began her teaching journey in Dublin, spending ten fulfilling years in the classroom and dedicating summers to teaching English as a foreign language. A move to Switzerland brought the opportunity to step into leadership as Deputy Head of Secondary at an international school, fostering a global perspective on learning and leadership. Driven by a passion for travel, culture, and education, Aisling went on to serve as Director of Education for a network of schools spanning five countries. This role offered rich experiences in facilitation and life coaching.
After years working across schools in Europe, Aisling returned to the day-to-day rhythm of school life in January 2024, joining the British School of Geneva as School Counsellor and joint Head of Pastoral. Alongside this, Aisling supports young people as a Youth Resilience Coach, with a special focus on ADHD coaching through private practice.
An active and outdoors-loving parent, Aisling enjoys life in the mountains with her husband and two young boys. Running, hiking, and skiing are family favourites, and these shared experiences inspire her belief in building resilience and a love of discovery.
Aisling thrives on helping young people explore their unique potential, empowering them to lead their learning and live with purpose.
