Our A Level College at British School of Geneva, also known as Sixth Form, offers the freedom and support to excel in chosen subjects. Our college is a natural stepping-stone for students following the English National curriculum, IB or IGCSE programmes. A Level students study in a dedicated college environment designed to support both academic success and personal development.

A Levels are internationally recognised qualifications typically studied between the ages of 16 and 18. Students usually choose three or four subjects to study in depth over two years, giving them the opportunity to focus on their interests and build a pathway towards their future university and career plans.
Unlike programmes that require students to continue studying a broad range of subject areas, A Levels allow students to focus on the subjects they enjoy and that align with their strengths and ambitions. Students can develop deeper knowledge and skills in areas such as sciences, mathematics, business, humanities, languages and the arts.
A Levels give students flexibility when selecting their subjects. They can combine subjects according to their interests, strengths and future plans - for example, choosing Mathematics, Physics and Further Mathematics for an engineering pathway, or History, Economics and English Literature for interests in law or international relations. Students who are still exploring their options can also choose subjects from different areas.
A Level study develops independent thinking, analytical skills, research, essay writing and problem-solving. These skills support students as they transition to higher education and prepare for a range of future career pathways.
A Levels are recognised by universities across the UK, Europe, Switzerland and many other parts of the world. They provide access to a wide range of higher education pathways, including Russell Group universities in the UK and leading universities internationally.
A Levels allow students to concentrate on the three or four subjects they have selected. Rather than completing additional compulsory components such as community service or a dissertation in some other programmes, students can dedicate their time to developing knowledge and skills in their chosen academic areas.
A Level assessment is primarily based on examinations at the end of the programme, although assessment arrangements vary by subject. This provides students with a clear academic structure across their two years of study and allows them to focus on their chosen subjects.

Every year, ISP students around the world take part in multicultural and multilingual experiences called International Learning Opportunities for Students (ILOS). Whether it’s becoming a United Nations delegate or directing a film, ILOS programmes open the world to every student.
